Skate Canada Fee
Please note that that Annual Skate Canada Membership is a separate Fee paid that each skater must pay yearly. This membership and insurance is valid from September 1st until August 31st every year. For the current 2023/2024 season this fee is $58.70
As a non-profit community organization, the Skate Canada Wasaga Beach relies on the support and contribution of volunteers to manage the club and deliver the amazing programs and events we offer. Members and their families must be involved in maintaining operations. This ensures all skaters receive the support they need, while keeping membership costs to a minimum. We ask that members support the club by volunteering for jobs during the sessions as well as during our annual Carnival event. **NOTE YOU MUST TRACK YOUR HOURS AND OBTAIN A BOARD MEMBER SIGNATURE ON A VOLUNTEER FORM*
Each family is required to complete 10 volunteer hours during the skating season . A Volunteer Bond cheque will be collected before your child's first day of skating. $200 per family. Cheques to be post dated to March 30, 2024. Your post dated cheque will only be cashed in the event that the required hours are incomplete after Carnival. You must hand in your Volunteer form signed off by board member to be considered complete. Deadline is March 30, 2024.
All parents are required to help with special events such as the Carnival, showcases, fundraising, session reps etc. as needed. Again, the hours may vary depending on events. During your shift, you may be required to assist coaches or executive members as needed.
You can sign up for Bond Hours at the arena on Thursday evenings. There will be a sign up book that lists available jobs/ hours. If you are not able to fulfill a job you signed up for, or need to change your job, please email email@example.com ASAP . Volunteer forms are available for pick up at the rink.
Once you have completed your Bond Hours and hand in your signed off completed Volunteer form, an executive member will mark your Volunteer obligation as complete.
Fundraising is a very integral and important part of Skate Canada Wasaga Beach as it helps to keep ice and program cost reasonable and affordable for everyone, at every skating level. During our winter skating season there will be multiple fundraising opportunities.
Fundraising costs for the 2023/2024 are as follows; single skater $100.00, family $150.00. (upon registration it defaults to family rate on your invoice, but will be manually corrected for single skaters). You must issue a Fundraising Bond cheque ( post dated to March 30 , 2024) or e-transfer, before your childs's first day of skating. The cheque will only be cashed if you do not fulfill your $100 commitment. Please take this into consideration when sending e-transfers.
